Read That Again

And Go Deeper

I’ve read more books in the last 6 months than I’ve read in the last 6 years. But I’ve changed the way I count the number of books. Now I count multiple reads of the same book. In fact, I now value a reread way more than the next book.

I think this has changed my life more than almost anything else…

I should explain that I only read non-fiction. Usually business or faith or some combination of the two!

When I read a great book over and over, the 3rd and 4th and 5th time through, I learn more and more. I absorb more. I actually make the prescribed change more.

For the first 53+ years of my life, I pretty much never read a book more than once. Check the box. Count it as done and learned. Fully absorbed and implemented. What’s next? Right?

But that’s not actually true for me and it’s not true for you either. Right? We learn something awesome from an incredible book but instead of stopping to make HUGE changes in our lives with that new info, we move on and look for something else, something better, some other solution.

When you read something and think ‘that was amazing and (could be) life-changing’, the next step should be to read it again, go deeper, make hard changes, and implement it way more fully.

And then read it again. and again.

btw, read also equals listened to on audible. I’ve listened to this one like 10 times.

What was the last book you read that was super powerful?
