Measuring The Day

Who was it?

When you stop at the end of a business day to consider ‘how the day went’, how do you measure success? If you’re like me, your very human thoughts go straight to your sales, your results, your money, your happiness, your (fill in your blank)

When I’m at my best, maybe the best measure of ‘a great day’ is 'who did I (meaningfully) help? and who did I (fully) connect with? Helping others and human connection. That’s it. It’s usually harder to measure in immediate dollars yet super easy to measure in Heaven’s eyes. Did I help… YES!

It can be a customer or a friend or both. It can be the meeting you intentionally set or just someone who God puts in front of you at Starbucks.

Who did you help that ends up directly in your path. Who did you impact today - whether you chose them or not. If you took the time to somehow move them forward, you won! You won the follow Jesus race today. Nice job. That’s all that was needed to achieve greatness. Rest well tonight. Then go again.

So, who was it today?

And why do we have to make it harder than that?
