Getting Time On Mission (TOM)
Winning August
What’s My Mission? And, more importantly, what is YOUR mission?
We’re always asking ‘how do I level up’ and ‘how do I become more effective’
I think the best answer is… Get clear on your mission first.
God has a plan for your life. I just bet you’ve heard that before somewhere. But what if it’s really true? What if He already knows what you were literally born to do and He’s put that inside your heart already? (psst… He has actually).
So how do you get that out and actually activate it in your life?
While answering that question is a lifetime journey, you can produce version one of your personal mission statement today and begin to act on it. Of course, edit it over and over and over forever. But, lets just start with August (starting Tuesday).
Do you know what it is?
What does God want you to do right now?
What has God put on your heart to do?
What do you LOVE doing?
How do you love to help people?
Start there and just write down what comes to mind. Ask Him these questions if you want ALL of it to be clear vs just your version. That’s it! Version G1 will be in your hands.
As soon as you are clear about V1 - and fully committed to it - every other decision in your day becomes much easier to make. Does this next phone call or meeting or next trip or next conference move the ball forward on my specific, well-defined mission? Yes or No?
Obviously, if the next meeting or call or zoom does move you forward on your mission in a very specific way, do it!
If you can’t explain to yourself and to me why/how this moves you forward on mission, do NOT do it. It’s that simple. Even if the alternative initially seems like do nothing instead. If you continue to use this filter in the days ahead, I promise that any empty time will get filled up with on-mission activities.
I also recorded this quick podcast for you on this.
