The Biggest Why

Ask Him

Have you figured out who you really are?

I think we can all agree that life is a journey. If that’s true, we should also agree that figuring out exactly who you really are on that journey seems obviously important yet we all just rush right on past this conversation and run on down the road of what we think is actual life. It’s become a bit of a cliche in recent years to talk about ‘discovering your big why’ but I don’t think most of us understand what that really is or how to discover it.

Discovering your deepest identity and calling is not optional at all if you become serious about truly experiencing all of the life God has for you. Until you get clear on that, you’re traveling without a map on the journey of life. Roadblocks and dead ends will keep appearing.

Becoming what God made you to become is a treasure to be discovered. It only gets found by those who seek after it. You find it by seeking Him - by asking Him.

If you just ask yourself - and not Him - for the answers, you’re immediately wrong from the start. You might get close but His answer will always be infinitely better than yours. It’s more likely that asking yourself will yield answers that are completely false.

There are many things that seem confusing about the spiritual journey. The goal in the journey is the transformation of self but it doesn’t come from self. It’s a gift that you receive from Heaven, not something that you create yourself on earth. All you have to do is just Ask.

There is no deadline. It’s never too late to ask or ask again.
