Baking In Prayer

I’ve always been confused by this bit of scripture.

The apostle Paul said ‘Pray without ceasing’

That’s 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Sooooooooo, nonstop prayer? How can I do that?

You mean I should just quit my life and sit around a pray 24:7?

Seems unlikely.

But I could definitely toss up another prayer when I’m driving around or shopping or mopping or fishing (I wouldn’t be fishing y’all). If I was to be fishing, I could simultaneously be praying and asking Him where said fish might be. Or I could just be thanking Him for the sunny day and the boat I get to fish on or the people I get to be with while I fish.

I think the point is that my mind is with Him (lest it be somewhere else less holy)

Maybe he should have written ‘choose to focus upward nonstop’
